Grown from: Normally grow from seeds. But since seeds are not easily available everywhere other way of plantation is by using stem cuttings. One of the major challenges in stem cutting plantation is to determine the part which will go down into the soil. Therefore, Stem cuttings are selected carefully from a salvia plant. The stems that have new shoots are cut. The tip with new shoots will be up and the other side will be under soil. Another method to avoid this dilemma will be to place the step on soil sideways. Make the prominent shooting part point up and make the remaining two-third portion of stem wet with water including the soil. When the new shoot starts growing, it’s the time for plantation in outdoor or indoor, depending upon your choice and available facility.Growth environment:This can be done in two ways:1. Indoor: This is normally achieved by creating humidity chambers and tents. Grows throughout the year because same environment can be maintained indoor. Since the salvia divinorum normally grows up to 3 meters in height, it is always advisable to plant the plants in considerably large vessel.2. Outdoor: May die out during fall and winter. If your outdoor environment is hot humid and damp only then it is advisable to do salvia plantation outdoors.Soil requirement:The soil must be kept damped. You need to be careful in doing so. Over watering can cause roots of rot.Climatic requirement: Salvia requires a hot and humid climatic to flourish. Salvia divinorum requires very little light. From 20-50% light exposure is enough for it’s proper growth. Recommended temperature is around 20 degree celcius.Look after:We can use nitrogen based fertilizers to help salvia divinorum growth. For root growth you can use potassium fertilizers. Use of fertilizers or urea can cause ammonia gas to produce, which is very dangerous gas for salvia divinorum. Proper ventilation is required to avoid accumulation of ammonia gas. http://salviamonster.com/wpmu
