| BRONCHITIS is a respiratory disease. It is an inflammation of air passages which is characterised by cough, hacking cough, wheeze & sputum. There are 2 major types of bronchitis: ACUTE and CHRONIC. Acute bronchitis is a common disease which commonly protracts for a short period & is induced by flu, the common cold, or an microbiosis. Thus, this type of bronchitis is extremely infectious and is inherited through cough, sneezing and simply by touching things that have been touched by a sick person. The other type of the disease is chronic bronchitis. Unlike acute bronchitis, it is durable. Its common symptoms are similar to those of acute bronchitic: cough and difficulty in breathing. Still, its causes are different. Chronic bronchitis is commonly caused by smoking, second hand smoke, a virus etc. As a rule, it is not transmitted from one persong to another. But it does not mean that the disease is less severe. Though the causes differ significantly, the 2 types have a lot in common. Both of them are insensitive to antibiotics. The thing is that bronchitis is induced by a virus, & virus infections do not react to the germ-killing properties of these extremely powerful medications. They are effective against bacterial infections (for instance strep throat and bladder infections). Antibiotics can also lead to complications, such as diarrhoea and yeast infections. Furthermore, they can weaken your immune system. So, antibiotics may cause more harm than good when they are not used properly. Whatever kind of bronchitis you have, it begins with hacking cough and gradually turns into begma accompanied by fever, splitting headaches and fatigue. As long as you have the above mentioned conditions, your acute bronchitis is infectious. It you have had this disease for more than half a year, you should have an appointment with your GP to get examined for other diseases. You can avoid the spread of the disease. A sick person should wash hands regularly & cover the mouth when coughing and sneezing. The best cure for bronchitis is herbal remedies. They will not adversely impact on your health as antibiotics can do and target the root causes. Natural medications are effective against both acute & chronic bronchitis. Take all the necessary preventive actions to avoid the disease. Any disease is better to avoid than to treatment. |
